What it covers

The programme consists of five mandatory online sessions of up to 2 hours each. These sessions, which are offered with flexible delivery dates and times to meet schedule demands, build around the following key areas:

  • Personal resilience, communication and boundaries – building self-awareness, managing stress and uncertainty, looking after and advocating for yourself, planning to minimise stress, tips, tricks and techniques.

  • Team resilience, developing trust and communication – managing expectations, understanding your team’s styles and strengths, effective communication and methods for building trust, with scenarios, to help build team resilience

Effective management of ineffective crew, effective hiring processes. Conflict resolution, and responsibilities of the employer, the employee or freelancer

  • Managing conflict and dealing with difficult people (inter-personal) – a practical session, working through scenarios, with tips and techniques for managing challenges, effective use of communication and conflict style, to challenge poor behaviour.

  • Working with all crew, DDN, EDI – legal obligations and frameworks, personal support and access requirements, access to work. Setting the tone and making the working environment safe.

In addition, you will receive:

  • Small group coaching sessions to help you navigate challenges and build confidence to advocate for yourself and others.

  • In-person workshops and meet ups across the UK, to discuss key challenges, share good practice and build networks of support.

If you are successful on application for the programme, we will also ask further questions specific to your sector, to establish other workshops targeted at HETV, film or unscripted that are not covered above, but you feel would be useful.

All participants in the programme will receive a workbook, as an aide-memoire for quick links to resources, tools and support, in PDF format easily downloaded to your smartphone, tablet or laptop for future use, in addition to a Padlet of resources.
