BFI FAN helps cinemas of all types connect with funding and development opportunities. By bridging the gap between local film exhibitors and larger UK-wide industry initiatives, they ensure that a broader range of international and British independent cinema remains accessible, diverse, and thriving within local communities. Their support includes delivering audience development projects, providing professional development and bursaries, and hosting industry webinars and networking events. Through a network of eight regional Film Hubs, they also work closely with local talent executives to offer specialised short film funding and dedicated career development programmes designed to discover and sustain emerging filmmakers.
