Equity provides individual advice, legal support, and public liability insurance, to protect and support members when issues arise at work. The union negotiates industry-wide collective agreements which set minimum terms and conditions of work across the majority of theatre, film and TV engagements. Equity works to ensure performers and creative practitioners receive fair pay and respectful treatment at work, guided by its member-led democratic structure of committees and its governing Council.
